How to Monitor Smart Home Device Battery Levels

Modified on Tue, 8 Sep, 2020 at 2:53 PM

If your community uses LittleBird Smart Home features, you can monitor and reset the battery levels of your Smart Home devices using your LittleBird web portal.

  1. Log into the LittleBird web portal on your desktop device.

  2. Browse to the Smart Home (house) icon in the navigation column

  3. Click the Expand (v) icon to reveal the Battery Levels item within the dropdown menu and click to reveal the Battery Levels list. Here you can see the Device NameTypeBattery Level, and Unit #, for each Smart Home device in your community.

While looking at a Smart Home device’s information, you may see these different types of battery level indicators:

  1. A green battery icon followed by a battery level of 41% or higher.

  2. A yellow battery icon followed by a battery level between 40-21%.

  3. A red battery icon followed by a battery level between 20-0%

  4. A grey battery icon with a question mark meaning the device is not connected to, or understood by, the unit's Smart Home panel.

If you or anyone on your staff has recently changed a battery in a Smart Home device, we recommend that you reset its battery level indicator by clicking the Reset option next to the device’s battery icon.

Note: If the battery is not reset, the Smart Home device will automatically update its battery status within 48 hours of replacement.
