How to Automate Smart Home Devices for All Vacant Units

If your community uses Smart Home features, the LittleBird web portal allows you to automate the Smart Home devices in all of your vacant units with a customizable schedule. 


Create a vacant units device schedule 

  1. Log into the LittleBird web portal on your desktop device. 

  2. Browse to the Smart Home (house) icon in the navigation column and click to reveal the settings page dropdown menu. 

  3. Locate the Vacant Units item within the dropdown menu and click to reveal the vacant units detail page. 

  4. Click the Edit Automation Settings button to reveal the Device Schedules form field. 

  5. If you wish to automate the lights in your vacant units, click the Lights Out Time section and use the dropdown menu to choose when these lights should turn off. 

  6. If you wish to automate the door locks for your vacant units, click the Lock Doors Time section and use the dropdown menu to choose when these door locks should lock. 

  7. If you wish to automate the thermostats in your vacant units, click the Set Thermostat Time section and use the dropdown menu to choose when these thermostats should activate. This will unlock the Thermostat TempThermostat Mode, and Fan Mode fields. 

  8. Use the toggle in the Thermostat Temp section to increase or decrease the temperature of the automated thermostats while using the Thermostat Mode and Fan Mode dropdown menus to set the mode of the automated thermostats and their fans. 

  9. Under the Set Door Code section, use the Door Code text box to enter the door code you’d like to assign for all vacant units. This code generally requires four digits. 

  10. Click the Submit button to save your changes. All of the Smart Home devices in your vacant units will respond to your preferences at the times you selected. 

Note: If you no longer wish to make a device schedule, simply click the Cancel button.

 

Edit your vacant units device schedule 

  1. While still in the Vacant Units page, click the Edit Automation Settings button to reveal the Device Schedules form field. 

  2. Make your desired changes and click the Submit button to save your changes. 

Note: If you no longer wish to make changes to your device schedule, simply click Cancel.
